The annual Vegetarian Festival, known here in the south as the Gin Jay (literally eat vegetarian) Festival, is coming soon. All Chinese Temples around the country will run this sacred ceremony for nine days and nine nights. During this time, people will strictly observe a vegan diet as they believe that it is the way to purify their spirits and make merit for their life. This year, as with every year, Phuket will host its famous festival during October the 8th-16th.
